About the apprenticeship
Duties
Duties will include the welding and fabrication skills and methods needed to complete your apprenticeship. You will have involvement with design, production and installation of a wide range of wrought iron products within both domestic and commercial sectors. This includes gates, railings, balconies, balustrades, security grilles, fences, spiral staircases and bespoke ironwork. Other duties will be allocated as appropriate including general housekeeping. Whilst in full-time employment you will undertake the following qualifications:
NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering
VRQ Diploma in Engineering Technology
Essential Skills in Application of Number, Communication and Digital Literacy
Additional information
Before applying for this position please ensure you are able to travel to and from the place of employment in Penarth and to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a week. You will be employed full-time as an Apprentice Fabricator Welder by this company based in Penarth. You will be enrolled onto a level 2 apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication.
Requirements
Skills
Must be able to read basic measurements.
Prior experience within engineering desirable but not essential.
Must be prepared to travel for site work if required.
Must be keen to pursue a career in the industry.
Punctual and reliable.
Have a real passion for the trade and desire to qualify.
Must be prepared to travel once a week to Pyle for off-the-job training as a mandatory requirement of the apprenticeship.
