Job Description:

Your duties will be varied across all areas of finance and will include exposure in the following areas:

Sales Ledger:

• Allocation and Reconciliation of Customer Payments

• Processing Customer Discounts and Credits as required

• Assisting with Resolving Customer Queries

• Month End and Ad Hoc Reconciliations

• Checking and Importing of Financial Data

• Updating of In-house Excel Reports

• Ensuring all checks and controls are adhered to

Credit Control:

• Liaising directly with solicitors to advise outstanding amounts, shortfalls of recent payments, sending copy invoices, arranging payment dates / updates regarding outstanding invoices.

• Sending monthly debtor statements to solicitors; highlighting overdue amounts, and working with them to reconcile accounts / updating case statuses.

• Investigating any waive fee requests / cost queries and responding appropriately in accordance with current guidance relating to specific solicitors.

Purchase Ledger:

• Supplier Payments, Statement Reconciliation and Queries

• Matching, Coding, Posting and Payment of Overheads

• Matching, Coding, Posting and Payment of Company Expenses

• Month End and Ad Hoc Reconciliations

• Checking and Importing of Financial Data

• Updating of In-house Excel Reports

• Ensuring all checks and controls are adhered to

Cash Management:

• Daily Bank Reconciliations including postings in Sage

• Petty Cash Reconciliation including postings in Sage

• Ensuring all checks and controls are adhered to

Management Accounts:

• Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts

Additional Duties:

• Case Management: Action all necessary tasks, managing personal daily workload in accordance with service priorities, thus ensuring each case is progressed by taking and recording the appropriate actions.

• Quality Control: Take personal responsibility for the quality of case management interventions, reviewing actions to ensure client expectations are exceeded in every case.

• Team Responsibilities: Assist all staff across the full range of all their duties to ensure UKIM services exceed competitor standards and quality.

Training Provided:

As an Accountancy Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship at Level 3. Within the apprenticeship you will undertake the full AAT Level 3 qualification.

The apprenticeship will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom platform, in addition to at the workplace.

Qualification Requirements:

 5 GCSE's including Maths and English - Grade C/4 and above

Personal Qualities & Skills:

· Communication skills both written and verbal

· Positive attitude

· Keen to develop

Basic accounting policies and procedures, as well as an understanding of the following packages / policies / principles (though training will be provided):

· Sage 1000

· Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

· VAT regulations

· Experience in a similar role

· Problem solving

· Ability to manage own time effectively

· 1 years previous experience either in an office or finance environment
