What will the apprentice be doing?
You will have the opportunity to spend up to 15 months working with a team covering the end to end Marketing process, allowing you to develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours whilst contributing to Met Office aims. You will also gain a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification in Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and eligibility for membership with CIM on successful completion of the programme.
As our Level 4 Marketing Apprenticeship, the key duties are:
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
We would look for you to join us in September 2023 with your apprenticeship training beginning in November after a Met Office induction Programme.
Working towards the Level 4 Marketing Apprenticeship, the training will be delivered online as well as self-study. Before applying, we recommend you consider if the delivery method suits your learner needs along with whether you feel you are committed to your own development and training as this element forms a significant aspect of a modern apprenticeship.
You will be managed by a line manager and have a mentor to offer further support. In addition to the formal training with a registered training provider, you will also have in house and on the job training
We expect apprentices to work in a hybrid fashion and suggest 1-2 days per week, with attendance encouraged in Exeter on the first Wednesday of the Month for a Team day. Please note any travel costs to the primary workplace location will be borne by the apprentice.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Whilst this temporary apprentice post is for up to 15 months, there is the potential for it to develop into a permanent position on successful completion of your apprenticeship. This would likely be in our Marketing Executive role.

GCSE or equivalent English/Maths GCSE or equivalent (Grade Grade A*-C or 9-4) Essential

- Support the tasks of your line manager, learning on the job and developing an understanding of Marketing and the Met Office.
- Put into practice the learnings from your Level 4 Marketing Apprenticeship studies.
- Develop an understanding of Met Office Marketing, Market Research and Analytics.
- Develop an understanding of other Marketing related areas in the Met Office - such as Digital Marketing and Marcomms.
