Environmental Science Degree at Kingston University. Environmental Sciences degree BSc (Hons)
Kingston University, Penrhyn Rd, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2EE.
5 year studying course, 1 day release per week, including field trips.
4 days working days will be based at 4-RAIL Services Ltd, Unit 11 Ironbridge Close, Great Central Way, London NW10 0UF.
On site work in and around London as required.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Promotion to the grade of full Technologist with 4-RAIL Services Ltd.
Further professional studies with the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS)-Hazardous Materials, Legionella, Waste Classification. Occupational Hygiene, Asbestos Consultancy. Noise Monitoring, Lab-based work. progression within the railway industry.

A Level or equivalent Chemistry (Grade C or above) Desired
A Level or equivalent Geography (Grade C or above) Desired
Things to consider
Ability to work nights, to be committed, and keen to learn. Ideally local to NW10 0UF. Field and a lab-based job that will change every day. Technical work, but also some physical work required. Because we work in the railway which is deemed a safety-critical environment, there will be a pre-employment medical drugs and alcohol screening.
- Site work and lab-based work. Taking air, water, soil, and ground samples. Supporting the lab with sample processing.
- Science-based materials testing, including dust, gas, and hazardous materials monitoring.
- Working in and around the railway, taking samples, and undertaking investigations with support from senior staff.
