What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Assisting with the quarterly control and indicator (risk appetite and key risk indicator) review process;
  • Assisting with the management of the risk and control register including reviewing sources of risk, risk response strategies and the effectiveness of the controls used to mitigate the risk(s) to the business;
  • Assisting with the management of the risk appetite and key risk indicator (KRI) framework including trended analysis of current assessments and an analysis of change against agreed tolerances/limits;
  • Assisting with the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process and reporting requirements including the annual ORSA report to Lloyd's.
  • Assisting with market initiatives and group policy for Sustainability/ESG and assessing the financial impacts from climate change;
    Assisting with the management of the risk event reporting register and maintaining the risk event register including recording new events (and near-misses), assessing potential impacts to the business and following up on actions assigned to the event.
  • Assisting with the management the risk radar process and maintaining the risk radar register, assisting with the assessment of potential impacts to the risk profile and following up on actions assigned to the register entry.
  • Assisting with the management reporting of the status of the risk action register;
  • Preparing data for and assisting with the drafting of reports for entity Boards, Risk Management Working Group, Risk Committee, Audit Committee, Reinsurance and Broker Security and Underwriting Committee(s) as required;
  • Assisting with the preparation of data for and assisting with the risk review process with risk group and risk category owners;
  • Assisting with reviewing and updating key documentation and policy reviews;
  • Assisting with key internal model requirements including model validation, model use and model change;
  • Assisting with the continued development of the internal risk management system and enhancing the reporting and analytical capabilities
  • Assisting with Lloyd's Minimum Standards Reviews and annual attestation process;
  • Assisting with ad-hoc internal and external reporting requirements as required; and
  • Assisting with the delivery of risk management training across the group including new joiner risk inductions.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Senior compliance and risk specialist Degree.

One job training with the Risk Team and online study in the office/home half day a week.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

To become a risk analyst.
