About the apprenticeship


Take a pro-active & innovative approach to supporting people, maximising their potential by enabling them to engage in meaningful activities and opportunities.
To enable them to lead a valued & fulfilling life & to maximise their potential; physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially & culturally
Support the Manager to assess, plan, implement, monitor & evaluate individuals' placements & take appropriate action in response to changing need
Contribute to the on-going assessment, planning & implementation of behavioural guidelines & skills learning programmes
Communicate appropriately with people being supported, taking into account their communication needs
To be aware of, & work towards, meeting & evidencing agreed packages of support
Be a key worker to designated individuals
Ensure people being supported have opportunities to be actively involved in the community
Organise & participate with people being supported, in a range of leisure & social activities, including annual holidays When necessary transport the people being supported either by company vehicle or public transport
• Ensure the health, safety & welfare of people being supported is monitored & maintained whilst ensuring they have opportunities to take planned risks
• Help people being supported to attain & maintain good standards of hygiene & personal care, providing assistance as appropriate
• Be responsible for recording, planning & evaluating support plans & risk assessments

• Demonstrate an ability to translate theory into practice in a practical and person centered way
• Understanding of Quality Assurance & ability to develop processes and audit tools
• Driven by your success and enjoyment in relation to work with people who have challenging reputations
• A straight talker who is prepared to stand apart and be unpopular when circumstances demand this
