About the apprenticeship
Duties
•As a requirement within this role you will be expected to register with Social Care Wales and act in accordance with standards set within these guidelines.
•To have appropriate qualification for your role (QCF Level 2 or above) or be willing to work towards this.
•To support the personalised development of each service user, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs.
•To respect the dignity and individuality of each service user and provide the service users with choices where appropriate
•To assist in the day-to-day running of their home and in all matters regarding the service users' daily lives.
•To support in ensuring high standards of care and support are maintained, adhering to all requirements and regulations within the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 .
•To work as part of a staff team in a constructive and supportive manner, attend regular staff meetings / seminars, individual support and supervision meetings as necessary.
•To work within a rota'd shift system inclusive of evening and weekend work. To sleep-in when arranged at a predetermined payment.
•To be ‘on-call' & “Standby” by arrangement
•To ensure the safety of the service users at all times, reporting promptly any concerns about the health, safety or wellbeing of service users.
•To establish positive and trustworthy relationships with service users and relatives
Additional information
Drivers licence preferred - but not essential.
The position involves working in service users homes in Blackwood.
