If you are looking for an interesting opportunity to learn new skills and gain a qualification in Decontamination then this could be the role for you.
Decontamination is part of the Health Care Science family and as such you will learn everything needed to become an efficient Technician. The role is very much centred around the patient experience, ensuring our medical devices are to the highest standards, following strict guidelines and legislation to ensure these are met.
You need a good retentive memory as you will learn many different procedures along with thousands of different instruments. While new advances in technology helps to keep the role interesting.
In the first 2 years of your Apprenticeship, you will be paid minimum wage until completion of the course when you will move to band 3 starting salary.
Main duties of the job
To work as an integral part of the department team in the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, disinfection, reassembly, packing and sterilisation of surgical instruments (medical devices). Recording all tasks on the departments computerised tracking and tracing system.
To work at all times in accordance with the department Standard Operating Procedures and the Quality Management System BS EN ISO 13485 MDD 93/42 EEC (MHRA) Annex Sterility Aspects only.
To achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Science. This qualification will be administered through satisfactory attendance with the registered provider and satisfactory completion.
