What will the apprentice be doing?
  • This role will undertake a discipline rotation within appropriate departments in order to gain the skills and competencies to complete the requirements of the apprenticeship and have an understanding of the structure up of the company overall.
  • The apprentice will be involved in supporting the project team to deliver contracts whilst developing Quantity Surveying, Commercial and Contract Management skills.
  • The role will also involve assistance in the administration of Sub-contractor accounts from project start up through to final account, including the administration of sub-contract payments and issuing payment notices

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Apprentice will work towards the RICS APC over the duration of their apprenticeship enrolling in year 3 and taking the RICS APC final assessment as their end point assessment, this will lead to achieving full chartered surveyor status.

The role will allow you to access on and off the job training, providing a fantastic platform to gain knowledge and practicalexperience.

Applicants for this course will need to meet the standard BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management entry qualifications:

120 UCAS Tariff points from

A-levels - BBB; or T-level Merit overall grade; or
BTEC Extended Diploma - DDM; or
120 UCAS Tariff points from an equivalent qualifications; and
GCSEs - English and Maths grade C / 4.
Applicants applying without A-levels will have their qualifications assessed for subject compatibility.

All successful applicants must meet the criteria for Apprentices set by the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once the 5 year apprenticeship is passed and completed successfully, we would expect the individual to be a competent Quantity Surveyor and support their further development to work towards a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the company as well as gaining relevant Professional membership status.

Things to consider

Site visits will be required during the apprenticeship on occasion to support the understanding of the industry. We would anticipate this is no more than once per month.
