A Level or equivalent Physics and Maths (Grade C Minimum) Desired
BTEC or equivalent Engineering (Grade DDM) Desired
Things to consider
You do not need prior knowledge of any software. Your commute to our office must be less than one-hour.
- Going on a site visit to a property in the morning
- Coming into the office and preparing the drawings for a project using AutoCAD
- Sitting down with the team to discuss design changes/ideas
- In the afternoon, having a workload meeting to run through resources / project timelines
- Continue drawing up the project, developing the design with the engineers
- Preparing and sending some emails out to clients
- Completing your timesheet and preparing for the next working day
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Apprentice Engineers will study Civil Engineering undergraduate degree, over a five-year period, on a day release program with London Southbank University (LSBU)
- This degree apprenticeship offers a cost-free route to professional qualification, combining undergraduate education with on-the-job training
- At the end of your university course, you will receive a degree apprenticeship, with BEng (hons). Also, the apprentice will have the opportunity to continue working at the company to further their career and also help other apprentices
- Blue Engineering have won awards for its Apprenticeship Programme. Our Managing Partner, James Nevin, has recently become an Ambassador for the London Apprenticeship Ambassador Network where he champions Apprentices
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Upon successful completion, you will meet the requirements needed to reach Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers
