What will the apprentice be doing?

·Basic administration duties including answering the phone and fielding calls

·Scanning any post and making sure it is attached to case files and sent to the right fee earner

·Bringing character and personality to a small team

·Listening and following instruction from management

·Keeping training records up to date

·Being an active team player and belief in working together to achieve better results

·Checking stationary stock levels and re-ordering when required

·Opening files on digital case management system

·Understanding the minimum requirements that are set by the Legal Aid Agency and implementing them

·Considering prosecution evidence

·Providing analysis of prosecution evidence

·Attending conferences with barristers and clients

·Arranging experts to undertake assessments

·Attend court to represent the firm at hearings with clients and barristers

·Attend social events as a representative of the firm

·Attend seminars hosted by legal professionals as a representative of the firm

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As a Solicitor apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Solicitor Level 7 Apprenticeship.Additionallearning within the apprenticeship at levels 4, 5 and 6 will enable you to be awarded anLLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice, from BPP.

Your Level 7 apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face from BPP [alongside our award-winning internal training]. Coupled with the on-the-job learning, completion of the apprenticeship will lead to obtaining your solicitor qualification.

The apprenticeship standard is based on the SRA's Statement of Solicitor Competence. Achievement of the standard and the associated apprenticeship assessment plan will satisfy the SRA's regulatory framework for qualification as a solicitor, subject to the SRA's usual tests of character and suitability.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Permanent solicitor position. Possibility of police station accreditation.
