What will the apprentice be doing?
Linbrooke Design Services trading as, Q1tm provide high quality Signalling Engineering solutions to the Rail Industry.
The Signalling Apprentice Designer is responsible for the mentored production of detailed signalling designs and calculations, signalling renewals or signalling amendments resultant from railway asset renewals.
The role is part of the Signalling Design team, working on a wide variety of projects both in the UK and overseas involving a diverse range of technologies including Mechanical / Electro-mechanical, RRI, Geographical interlocking, CBI and ETCS.

Level 4 Advanced Rail Engineering Technician
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon completion of the programme you will look to move into a permanent role within our Railway Signalling Design business continuing your career development as a Signalling Design Engineer.

The role is part of the Signalling Design team, working on a wide variety of projects both in the UK and overseas involving a diverse range of technologies including Mechanical / Electro-mechanical, RRI, Geographical interlocking, CBI and ETCS.
- Provide and undertake appropriate signalling design dependant on capability to signalling and other railway projects
- Work content includes: CAD drawing; mentored design of signalling wiring layouts, power calculations and other
- REB design; generation and evaluation of signalling options and staging
- Circuit analysis; assistance to technical report writing; interfacing with other disciplines and project administration
- Responsible for basic signalling design input and draft signalling calculations to multidisciplinary design teams on small to medium sized projects
