What will the apprentice be doing?

Typical Responsibilities

Immediate tasks will be focused on social and economic areas of sustainability, but there will also be opportunities to support wider sustainability including carbon, energy and sustainability rating systems. Responsibilities include:
  • Helping the Sustainability Manager with identifying and implementing best practices in sustainability
  • Helping the Sustainability Manager with sustainability monitoring and evaluation, data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Helping the wider team to support projects and tenders with advice on stakeholder & community engagement, social value creation and local economic opportunity promotion
    Working with working with other business functions (e.g. Construction, Procurement) on integrating sustainability in their activities and in collecting data and reporting
  • Researching and developing understanding Social Value goals and public procurement requirements as they pertain to Bechtel prospects and projects.
  • Assisting in developing appropriate guidance, procedures and training materials as relevant
  • Helping the Sustainability Manager with internal communications, communications materials, case studies and best practice exemplars on sustainability
  • General administrative support and other reasonable tasks as required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Qualification: Level 4 Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) Practitioner

You will be able to: gain knowledge about:

+ Delivering a CR&S Strategy with Impact
+ Project, Change and Culture Management for CR&S Professionals
+ Working with Internal and External Stakeholders to Drive a CR&S Strategy
+ Understanding, Analysing and Presenting CR&S Data Effectively
+ Planning, Preparing and Publishing CR&S Reports
+ CR&S Budgets, Fundraising and Understanding Value for Money and ROI
+ Evidence Portfolio

you will receive free membership to the ICRS for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Membership entitles apprentices to all the benefits of being a member including events, resources, and an online community of aspiring CR&S professionals.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you can continue your membership of the ICRS and can apply to become Fellow once you have at least five years of experience.
