What will the apprentice be doing?
  • To assist in the fitment of air suspension kits to passenger & light commercial vehicles.
  • With the use of computer aided design (CAD), aid in the design & project management of new air suspension products.
  • Testing of competitor parts during design phase of new components.
  • Assist in the general organisation of our Paslow Hall Farm site.
  • Work in an organised & professional manor ensuring to leave a tidy workspace.
  • Help with new business enquiries in workshop, phone & email.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

L4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Standard.

L4 HNC in Engineering or Manufacturing.

Things to consider

Mechanical know-how is a must ideally with some previous knowledge / interest & experience in vehicles. Computer literate with an appetite to learn. Computer aided design experience desirable (ideally Solidworks) Design & technology or craft related GCSE, Physics GCSE ideal, Technical drawing experience or graphics design useful. Attention to detail, Appetite to learn new skills with a positive attitude to new challenges, Friendly with ability to communicate directly with customers, Able to take instructions for improved working, Physical work is a daily routine for this role. 30-40 minutes walk from Chipping Ongar. Some flexibility of working hours to fit within limited bus schedules is possible (e.g. Bus # 32 from Chelmsford etc.) Office set in a rural location with free parking available. Set holiday dates may be required to match with other personnel. Some work from home days with set tasks might be needed on occasion. Working under a vehicle is required with safe guidance from a senior. Work will be varied with some days purely based in the workshop & other days deskbound with various computer based tasks. Some company travel may be necessary on occasion.
