What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The apprenticeship programme has been designed to provide candidates with comprehensive training in mechanical
and manufacturing engineering to aid the business across a broad spectrum of plant and equipment in a Sheet Metal
production facility.
Further progression may well be available in other areas within our sector, upon successful completion of Engineering Manufacturing Technician.

Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C/4) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade B/5) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Science (Grade C/4) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Technology (Grade C/4) Essential
Things to consider
To be eligible for this apprenticeship you will need a minimum of 2 of the following: - a level 3 qualification in Engineering - an A Level at grade C or above in maths or science. - T Level pass in an appropriate subject area - relevant work experience
- Health and Safety in the workplace, including the correct use and care of PPE
- The use of problem-solving techniques such as 6S, root cause
- Good working knowledge of a typical manufacturing environment including processes, equipment and practices
- Integration between the shop floor and office-based support teams
- Standard vs Special process flow through the business
- Identify continuous improvement activities and implement the actions
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- This is a full, 4-year Level 4 Apprenticeship programme run in conjunction with City College Plymouth
- You will attend college one day a week
- Regular assessor reviews
- You will study a Mechanical Engineering HNC for the Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician
