What will the apprentice be doing?
Day to day duties will include:

The successful candidate will work towards achieving a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard including the following elements:
Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in General Engineering
Portfolio of Evidence (Workplace Qualification).
Due to the higher mathematical content included within the Apprenticeship, the learner may be asked to do a Level 3 Maths bridging unit before they start the Level 4 Apprenticeship.
All off-the-job training will take place at Derwent Training, Malton, YO17 6YG one day a week. This Apprenticeship will include a large proportion of self-directed study and research which is expected to be completed outside of classroom hours in order to meet assignment deadlines.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Full-time position with Schneider Electric.

Things to consider
- The successful candidate must have the ability to travel to Schneider Electric, Scarborough and to Derwent Training, Malton to achieve all elements of the Apprenticeship. - You must be 18 or over to start the Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship.
Day to day duties will include:
- Ensure component conformity according to engineering drawings by managing incoming inspection and metrology activities inside the plant and ensure the safety of persons and property in the working area
- Define / upgrade standard inspection protocol according to standard requirements
- Quality Equipment System (Gage R&R)
- Optimise inspection methodologies using best available techniques and tools
- Support production and quality engineers to check part conformity according to specifications in case of quality issue
- Manage the calibration program of measurement equipment for the plant
