Weekly Hours Worked: 09:00am to 17:00am – 8:45am to 17:15pm Monday to Friday

About the company:

We are based in an open plan office with a small communications room and a medium sized warehouse.

We provide wireless internet solutions in areas where internet connection is poor or non-existent, for example rural farming/building sites/out of town industrial sites and also for temporary events.

The engineers are expected to work all over the country and need to be as flexible possible due to the nature of our business (which is reactive which can mean one day in the local area and the next Scotland with little notice. We are usually the final resort for a desperate customer.

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an Apprentice IT Technician with APC Solutions, a Telecommunications Service Provider based in Kelvedon, Essex.

Job Description:

Monitor our Network equipment to ensure that we stay within our SLA, evaluate/diagnose and fix issues when they arise, keep a log of faults effectively, report network incidents and maintenance windows internally and externally, schedule equipment maintenance in time whilst causing minimal disruption to the customers, add/remove network equipment to our monitoring software, create network diagrams for the solutions we provide to our customers.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Diagnose issues.
  • Disclose incidents.
  • Solve all issues.
  • Monitor the network equipment.
  • Provide 1st line technical support to telephone requests and emails from users.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues and escalating or remediating as required.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.

Training to be provided:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage. Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components. Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards. Support the information systems needs for your business.
