What will the apprentice be doing?

At Measom we are very passionate and dynamic and need an apprentice who will fit in and have the confidence to get involved from the start. Whilst you don't need any construction experience, it is desirable. You will need to be a fast learner with a desire to acquire new skills quickly. If you think this is you, then read on.

During your apprenticeship, your responsibilities will include:

· Develop relationships with supply chain partners and Clients.

· Assisting the project teams with measurement, take offs and valuations.

· Assist the project team with the preparation of wages / sub-contract payment notices, final accounts and interim valuations.

· Assisting the project teams with the management of costs through the construction phase of the project

· Assisting to value the cost of any variations during the construction phase.

Assisting in raising and responding to contractual notices

· Assisting in the analysis of delay impact programme and drafting associated narratives.

Input to dispute resolution activities as and when such matters arise

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Apprentice will work towards the RICS APC over the duration of their apprenticeship enrolling in year 3 and taking the RICS APC final assessment as their end point assessment, this will lead to achieving full chartered surveyor status.

The role will allow you to access on and off the job training, providing a fantastic platform to gain knowledge and practicalexperience.

Applicants for this course will need to meet the standard BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management entry qualifications:
  • A-levels - BBB; or T-level Merit overall grade
  • BTEC Extended Diploma - DDM; or
  • 120 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications; and
  • GCSEs - English and Maths grade C / 4.
  • Applicants applying without A-levels will have their qualifications assessed for subject compatibility.

All successful applicants must meet the criteria for Apprentices set by the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We are looking for a long-term relationship with our apprentices and we have a long-term career structure in mind, whereby we see the apprentice developing into senior roles within our business as it grows. With this in mind, in addition to Quantity Surveying we will provide our apprentices with exposure to general management and business development activities.

Applicants would be ideally located in the Leicestershire / Nottinghamshire area. Must be able to drive and have own transport.
