What will the apprentice be doing?

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Accounts and Audit Team as an ACA apprentice under the Level 7 Apprenticeship. As well as completing your ACA and apprenticeship qualification you will be learning to audit and complete statutory accounts. We have a diverse portfolio of clients in many different sectors so at the end you will have good well-rounded experience in accounts and audit which makes you a better accountant.

This is a very interesting and demanding role as our work is driven by internal and external deadlines, outstanding communication skills both written and verbal are essential. You will also need to commit to the study requirements to successfully pass the exams.

Ability to manage and organise your workload will be a key requirement. There is a great opportunity for career progression pre and post qualification. Role is split roughly 50% accounts and 50% audit. We have a relaxed and friendly office, good salary and career progression as your skills and knowledge increase.

Duties in this role include:
  • Preparing statutory accounts for Sole Traders and Limited companies.
  • Involved in planning and conducting audits.
  • Completing corporation tax calculations.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

ACA Level 7

ACA is a great option if you're looking to become a chartered accountant and work in accountancy and finance. It opens a wealth of opportunities, as you can specialise in specific areas or sectors, or work broadly across multiple industries. You'll also need to have 450 practical work experience days.

Certificate Level: You'll be introduced to the essentials of accountancy, finance, and businesses. You'll learn about double-entry accounting, assurance, business and technology, law, management, and taxation.

Professional Level: This level teaches you how to apply technical knowledge to real-life scenarios. You'll deepen your knowledge on financial reporting, audit and assurance, tax compliance, finance management, business strategy, and business planning.

Advanced Level: Will give you the skills to understand how accountancy and finance works within businesses. You'll learn about corporate reporting and strategic business management.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once qualified progression to Assistant Manager/Manager.
