What will the apprentice be doing?
Each week is different and will include a mixture of the following:
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The degree you will attain will be Architecture BA (Hons).
The course is 4 years part-time. Apprentices usually attend university one day per week for the 15 week first semester and one day per week for the 15 week second semester. The day at LSBU will always be known in advance and does not vary from week to week.
The location of training will be London South Bank University, Southwark Campus, London SE1 0AA.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
After successful completion of the Architectural Apprentice Level 6, you can progress to the next stage to becoming a Chartered Architect. The next stage would be to commence the level 7 apprenticeship - equivalent to RIBA Part 2 in Architecture which is the equivalent to a Masters level qualification. Following that the RIBA Professional Practice Part 3 qualification is required to become a Chartered Architect

BTEC or equivalent BTEC (Grade DDM) Essential
Each week is different and will include a mixture of the following:
- hand sketching imagery
- creating models in the model shop
- using digital media to create and edit drawings such as SketchUP, 3D modelling with Revit and CAD
- rendering images using Enscape and similar tools
- studying maps and geographical layouts
- putting detailed reports together
- setting up for presentations to clients
- photography
- site visits
