What will the apprentice be doing?
· Planning site work including Health & Safety, Quality and Environment management
· Assisting an experienced engineer on site
· Manging subcontractors
· Helping to schedule out soil testing
· Undertaking different types of design calculations
· Using the latest software and technology
· Writing reports
· Meeting clients and developing professional relationships
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering which includes the completion of a BEng (Hons) and the achievement of an IEng via ICE.
You will attend LSBU university on a day release basis, working 4 days per week (term time only).
You will undertake learning within the workplace to demonstrate the achievement of the KSB's to successfully complete the End Point Assessment (EPA)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
over the 5 years you will grow into either a full-time design or site role as best suits your competencies and desires. After successfully competing the full 5 year programme we will support you in your application for Incorporated membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers. At that time you will be promoted into a full time engineering role. We also have Training schemes that will allow you if you want to develop further to become either a Chartered Civil Engineer or a Chartered Geologist or a Chartered Scientist.

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 9-4) Essential
