What will the apprentice be doing?
  • You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects for clients such as the Environment Agency, SEPA, water companies and major infrastructure providers
  • Your workload will be varied, you may be designing a Sustainable Drainage System for a new development, assessing options for managing flood risk or supervising construction of a weir
  • The role will provide you with exposure to wide range of projects and we will support you to grow and develop into the areas that you find interesting
  • Whatever you decide to do our friendly teams will help you along the way

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 6 Civil Engineer apprenticeship standard:
  • Kingston University
  • The training will be day release

Successful apprentices will gain a BSc or BEng civil engineering degree which is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

If you are successful in being offered a permanent role with Jacobs at the end of the apprenticeship, you will be given the opportunity for further development and qualifications, depending on the business need and your capabilities and interests.

Past apprentices have taken up roles of Water Engineers and have been given opportunities to work in different areas of the business, or at different locations across the UK if desired.
