What will the apprentice be doing?
The successful applicants will work in the Nottingham Business Unit on Glaisdale Drive and will enjoy a development programme that exposes them to all aspects of our business. This will include warehouse work, office administration, customer service and sales.
The role is varied and will consist of task in all areas of our business including all aspects of Warehouse mangement, Customer Sales both over the phone and face to face, Assisting the sales team with admin, orders and invoices.
Entry Criteria
A Levels (or equivalent) BBB or BTEC Extended Diploma DDM plus 5 GCSEs including English Language and mathematics Grade C/4 or above. Please note that we can accept candidates with relevant work experience in this area if you do not have A-Levels/Diploma. Although we have added some subjects on the advert they are not set in stone, we require a candidate who is educated to A Level standard and has 5 subjects at A*-C/9-4 Grade in GSCE or equivalent but include maths/English.
As an individual you will enjoy working as part of a busy dedicated sales team. Although you will experience other areas of the business, your primary focus will be on customer service and sales. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate and relate to our customers and existing staff and be confident dealing with people of all types. Much of what we sell is electrical product and you will have the ability to research (from our catalogue, online and other sources) and impart technical information about the product.
You will have the ability to use our bespoke computer system to accurately process our customer orders, this requires the ability to concentrate on detail, to ensure you avoid costly mistakes, whilst inputting. (Full training given). You will be a resilient individual who has chosen to take a course of action that will expose you to a demanding and hard-working environment, you will be able to juggle your academic work and your paid work commitments.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Apprentice will attend NTU on block and day release studying, over a four-year period. 20% of the candidate's time will be spent in formal or informal training. The studies, which culminate in the Chartered Manager Degree award at Level 6, are fully funded by Stearn Electric whilst you work for them.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
