What will the apprentice be doing?
As a Civil Engineering apprentice in our Local Government team in Norwich, you will be supporting your team on local and national projects; carrying out site inspections, preparing engineering design documents including drawings using AutoCAD and helping your team to compile reports for our clients. You will be trained in the use of software engineering tools, and you will be supported by your Line Manager and Mentor to undertake your role.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend the University of Warwick to study a Civil Engineering degree apprenticeship and gain a BEng, as well as your Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you successfully achieve your apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As this is a permanent position, after gaining your degree, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to work towards gaining Chartered status with your chosen institution, as well as the opportunity to pursue your further study and training goals.
