Interested candidates must demonstrate a key interest in news stories and have an understanding of current affairs and the work of the Government Communication profession.
- Organising key events and visits
- Using digital and social media to interest and engage people
- Working on government campaigns to encourage community participation
- Researching and analysing the needs of a variety of audiences
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- You will work towards a Level 4 Public Relations and Communications Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
- This will be London based training delivered once a month, but candidates can be placed regionally
- Departments will be expected to cover travel costs for regional candidates
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of this apprenticeship, you may decide to progress your career within GCS in the following areas:
