What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties will include:
Provide tax compliance support to Wolseley Group companies.
Assess impact of legislation changes on the Group Tax framework.
Assist in the review of business tax computations for all group companies.
Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of all information required for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Take responsibility for operating relevant base financial controls.
To support the Head of Tax within the Wolseley Group Finance team to ensure robust tax compliance across the Wolseley Group. To support the operation of the financial control framework in the area of responsibility. Fully funded study package for tax exams.
Relationships: External Professional Advisors.
Subsidiary Finance Teams.
Internal and External Audit.
External Reporting.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Professional Accounting Taxation Technician Apprenticeship Level 7 The ATT and CTA Tax Pathway lets you fast track through two tax qualifications to become both a Taxation Technician and a Chartered Tax Adviser. It also gives you the opportunity to specialise at an earlier stage. There are two pathways to choose from to complete the qualification, please refer to the Kaplan website for further details. There are two ways to complete the dual qualification. The Application and Skills paper is compulsory and must be completed to achieve the CTA qualification. The Application exam itself will be revised with a pre-seen scenario released two weeks ahead of the exam. This will be assessed on a competency basis, with a stronger focus on advisory and writing skills. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of their time towards it.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon completion of the Level 7 qualification, as a Wolseley colleague, they will have access to any development programmes in our award winning Talent Guild offering.
