The Hug Group Ltd is a tech start-up that has created a fantastic new product called ClassHug (available as an App in the App store). The App interacts with tracking devices that enables teachers to track children when they’re on school trips. We are actively selling the App & tracker combination to nurseries and primary schools to enable the teacher to monitor children when they’re out and about (be it a full school trip to the zoo/museum or a simple walk to the park or high street). The teacher receives alerts and alarms when a child strays beyond a certain pre-set range.
The role is based just outside the centre of Dartford with regular 15-minute buses from the centre of town.

At the Hug Group, we are looking for somebody to help us manage a few aspects of our business and processes. Our ClassHug product is used to keep children safe on school trips. With over 20,000 Nursery and Primary schools in the UK – all of which are required to partake in learning outside the classroom (i.e. school trips) – there is a massive demand for our product. We need a young and enthusiastic person to work alongside us and qualify for their Business Administration Level 2 apprenticeship.
As we’re a start-up, up the role is very much a varied hybrid/multi-tasking role and it’s likely that no two days will be the same. Expected duties include: –
Assisting with the sales effort including helping manage email campaigns and social media marketing campaigns.
Dealing effectively with any inbound queries that come about because of mail and marketing campaigns
Ensuring outgoing deliveries are accurate and timely.
Diary and appointment management
Event management (e.g. trade shows & conferences)
Maintaining and updating contact lists (i.e. nursery & schools’ databases)
Dealing with client service and troubleshooting queries
Visiting schools for relationship building/trouble shooting/sales purposes.
Your role may expand as you receive training and may not necessarily be limited to the tasks above.
£3.70 per hour.
Increase after 6 months subject to satisfactory completion of probationary period.
Commission plan/bonus structure commensurate with the success of the company.
Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm
37.5 working hours per week plus 1 hr lunch break per day (unpaid)
Some computer literacy (primarily MS Office – Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Awareness of the importance of social media.
Attention to detail
Outgoing, confident and enthusiastic.
Must have good written and spoken English as will be required to talk to and email client schools in a professional manner.
Minimum achieved Grade D or equivalent in English. Grade D or above in Maths is a bonus but not essential.
An interest in sport/PE will be advantageous
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
