Brief job description:
As an IT apprentice at Boxtec you’ll have a busy, but varied workload providing support to the IT & Business Systems Manager and business by taking on IT support tasks, at times in conjunction with one of our support partners. You’ll also be supporting business critical projects and system upgrades as part of a small team.
The successful candidate will be starting in August/September
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Supporting and in time, or where possible take the lead on IT support issues across the business.
- Supporting IT projects as required as part of a small team.
- Develop strong working relationships with staff across the business As the role develops, support with the IT & Business Systems Manager and Operations Director to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Skills Required:
- Have a strong interest in IT, specifically IT support for software applications e.g. Microsoft Office, administration e.g. Active Directory and network technologies.
- Be keen to learn new skills and achieve good/passing results within any training or academic studies as part of the apprenticeship scheme.
- Be able to quickly pick up new skills and work to strict timescales when required Possess a keen eye for detail.
- Show strong interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with staff across the business at all levels.
- Possess a “Can do” attitude and take ownership of tasks, issues and resolutions.
- Be flexible in nature to support the IT & Business Systems Manager on other IT projects as required.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team. Support new apprentices who may join the Boxtec apprentice scheme.

Training to be provided:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:
- Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
- Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
- Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
- Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
- Support the information systems needs for your business.
