We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has a passion for engineering and design to join our team on our 36-month apprenticeship programme to learn, grow and contribute to our goal of a better tomorrow.

36-Month Electrical Engineering Design & Draughtsperson Apprenticeship Programme

In this programme, you will be working within the Electrical Design team. Our team is responsible for creating, developing and maintaining electrical design database, drawings and documentation across many global projects in many locations. As an Electrical Design & Draughting apprentice you will, under the supervision of the Electrical Engineering team, be learning how to design engineering concepts to solve electrical engineering design challenges.

 

As an Electrical Engineering Design & Draughting Apprentice at Worley you will get the opportunity to learn:

  • The fundamentals to engineering design and drawing The engineering design principles and the application of maths and science to engineering To design engineering concepts to solve engineering challenges About electrical power generation and distribution including the principles of voltage transformation About lighting and small power systems design About the principles of earthing and lighting protection About cable types, specification and installation requirements To evaluate engineering designs to determine the most cost-effective solution To produce detailed drawings to relevant standards and codes, using CAD, 3D modelling software and bespoke Electrical design software systems. The impact of relevant factors that are important to design e.g., the context of the design, environmental impact, materials, components, quality, safety, security, risk, cost, regulatory compliance etc How to review and interpret technical information and requirements Document management and control How to always work safely, complying with relevant health and safety requirements

 

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will learn and then perform these duties under the supervision of your manager/team.

 

What you will need to be eligible to apply:

  • You will need to be a UK Resident Have a passion for Engineering Design! You will have completed your A-Level (or equivalent) qualifications

What will be the format of the apprenticeship?

You will work 4 days a week (in person) at our Worley offices and 1 day a week you will be studying your qualification in-person at our local learning provider (which day you will study will be determined by the learning provider).

 

Which qualification would I receive upon completing my apprenticeship?

You will be studying towards a Level 3 Engineering Design & Draughtsperson Apprenticeship.
