What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Monitor construction industry developments and evaluate their relevance and effect on the federation and its member companies
  • Provide research, key messages and analytical support to underpin policy positions
  • Provide public affairs support to ensure the federation's programmes of engagement and influencing are executed
  • Contribute to the federation's One Voice magazine, news briefings and other policy publications or articles
  • Ensure the BMF's policy and research work is reflected on the federation's websites and social media channels and any partner or associated websites, as appropriate
  • Help promote and develop sound working relationships with all major organisations that have an impact on, or interest in, construction
  • Speak at events and writing reports for publication
  • To liaise and collaborate with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice will report into the Policy and Affairs Manager Brett, based in our London office.

Receiving a Level 4 Poilcy officer qualification at the end of the 18 months programme.

The majority of the training will be completed virtually, with some face to face coaching. You will have direct support from your Manager / Business mentor and access to other team colleagues.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This role will open further opportunities, working with our partner organisations and leading in parliamentary receptions.

There is also progression with other programmes in higher education and management roles.

The purpose fo this role is: • To help deliver and promote the BMF's policy, public affairs and research objectives • To analyse and understand members' needs. • To inform members of changes in public policy. You may also be required to input to our BMF Forums, presenting on Policy.
