What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Log and refer application problems to internal/external resource and progress resolution of reported issues
  • Test fixes to reported application problems
  • Work closely with the Business Change, Business Analysis and Development teams to produce detailed testing scripts for both function and data testing
  • Prepare test documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Lead and participate in test execution of business applications
  • Be proactive in identifying potential enhancements to supported applications that improve efficiency or provide other business benefits
  • Understand and adhere to IT standards and procedures
  • Act as a resource on projects managed by other sections within IT or the Business
  • Undertake other tasks within the scope of Business Support responsibilities that may, from time to time, be required by the Head of Business Change, Business Support Manager or senior members of Business Change, IT or the Business
  • Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of Miller, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. Our policies and procedures are written to encapsulate the compliance, legal and financial crime related legislation and regulations which apply to Miller
  • Comply with any external rules and requirements imposed on individuals performing their role at Miller, such as Lloyd's byelaws and FCA rules
  • Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller's reputation in the market

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Business Analyst, with training in how to:
  • Investigate the wants, needs, problems and opportunities for your business
  • Analyse performance of your processes and suggest recommendations for improvement
  • Identify your data requirements to improve your business
  • Create data models to illustrate how your data is represented within your business systems
  • Assess costs, benefits and impacts of suggested changes to your business

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Apprentices joining Miller will join in a permanent role and will be supported throughout their apprenticeship and beyond.
