What will the apprentice be doing?
We are looking to recruit a Finance Officer - Lead who will support our small finance and payroll team and report directly to the Directors.
The ideal candidate must have sound knowledge of working within a finance and payroll environment with excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and Sage and a super sharp eye for detail.
The workload will be varied and the key duties will involve but are not limited to:
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend SDCs main campus 1 day a week in which you will study the theory side of your apprenticeship. As well as this, in house training will be provided by qualified and trained professionals within their field of work.
Upon completion of your 18 month programme, you will recieve a Level 4 AAT Diploma.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Although we would prefer someone with some experience, we would be more than happy to train someone who would like the opportunity to grow within our Company.

- Co-ordinating and supporting the finance team
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Leading on annual audits
- Leading on HR queries, administration, payroll and pensions
Produce reconciliations and reports - VAT returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Processing customer and supplier invoices
- Finance administration
- Research and developments as required by the finance department
- Laws and regulations that affect the company are adhered too
Managing and dealing with email inbox - Ability to assist with other ad hoc duties and covering for staff absences as and when required
