- The Apprentice Project Manager will work alongside all areas of the team including team manager, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Software Developers. Our team deliver projects and support work for many areas of the council, and this comes in many forms such as software replacement, business process change, redesign of a service, redesign of digital offering such as eforms, customer portals, etc. and support/remedial/reactive work for ICT operational projects
- The apprentice will be exposed to many different variations of projects and will learn the differences between projects, why they exist, and the methodologies and practices used to implement them
- Day to day, the apprentice will be involved in a number of meetings specific to projects or more general such as update boards for ICT or the corporate transformation programme. They will be spending significant time planning, reviewing and monitoring projects as well as engaging with stakeholders and communicating with numerous areas of the business on anything from project updates to finance queries regarding budgets
Overall, the apprentice will:
- Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including council staff, residents, and businesses
- Identify and manage risks associated with projects
- Administer contracts for project work
- Prepare reports on project progress and performance
- Learn and develop skills and knowledge
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Advanced Level 4 Apprenticeship in Associate Project Manager
- NVQ and Functional Skills maths and English, if required
- Work based learning
