What will the apprentice be doing?

We are a forward-thinking firm providing a range of accounting, audit, tax and advisory services. We are looking for someone ready to progress their career and develop their skill set. As a trainee accountant, you will receive practical on-the-job training, as well as study support.

Job requirements :
  • Ambitious and hard-working with a desire to learn, progress, and take on responsibility
  • Problem-solving - ability to integrate large amounts of information/data and demonstrate logical thinking
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong team-working to achieve a common goal
  • Relevant degree or A levels (A-C) or AAT qualification

Job Responsibilities :
  • Producing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Bookkeeping duties
  • Preparing corporate and personal tax returns
  • Audit attendance
  • Client communication

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 7 Accountancy or taxation professional standard:
  • Level 7 ICAEW or ACCA
  • Training to be provided in house, along with courses at First Intuition, Chelmsford
  • Apprentices without English or mathematics at Level 2 must achieve this prior to the completion of the End Point Assessment

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potential to progress into a full-time position.

Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Willing to learn, Keen and enthusiastic, Prior accounting experience, Part qualified in ACA / ACCA

Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent 5's- including English and Maths etc (Grade 9-4 (A*-C)) Essential
A Level or equivalent Any (Grade Pass) Essential
Other AAT/ICAEW/ACCA- Level 3/4 (Grade Pass) Essential

Things to consider
