BTEC or equivalent construction (Grade 4/C or above) Essential
Things to consider
Must be able to use their own initiative, taking accountability and responsibility for a project from start to finish. Deadline driven, instilling motivation in the team to hit key targets. Must hold a full UK Driving Licence as this role will involve travelling between sites across the East Midlands.
The Role:
- Reading, interpretation and providing clear communication of construction drawings on site for layouts, material measurements etc.
- Effectively influencing the progress on sites and ensuring programme deadlines are met
- Developing effective relationships and dealing with clients and subcontractors
- Working closely with all other team members to ensure that the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety aspects of the work are adhered to during your project phase on site
- Continually developing your knowledge in the industry, communicating and implementing best practice guidance to line managers and relevant staff
- To undertake any other duties as allocated

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Work proactively with a keen interest in devolving their careers within the Civil Engineering sector
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- On the job training
- Off the job training, you will study on a Block release basis at SMB College Group, Stephneson Campus
- Before being considered for a formal interview with the employer, you willl be required to apply and be assessed and have an intial interview by the college
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
