What will the apprentice be doing?

Universal AV Services:
  • Rack building/pre-wire
  • Install LED Screens, Video Walls and Flat Panel Displays, Projectors
  • Installing AV Control systems, e.g. Crestron, Extron, VC
  • Install audio equipment, speakers, microphones etc.
  • Solder AV connectors, terminate shielded category cable

Universal Live:
  • Assisting our technical team on events for onsite training
  • Testing and preparing a range of technical equipment - AV / lighting / video / stage and set
  • Delivering / Collecting equipment
  • Rigging / De-rigging equipment on site
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • General maintenance of a wide range of technical equipment
  • Assist with the yearly company stock take and PAT testing as necessary
  • Day to Day warehouse maintenance
  • Manage all storage space and areas
  • Ensure equipment is safe and secure at all time
  • Some evening and weekend work as and when required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • Level 5 Audio-Visual Apprenticeship Standard
  • On and off the job training
  • Day release at Middlesbrough College (Remote)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
  • Depending on the circumstances of the business upon completion of the apprenticeship programme there could be a potential position of employment available
