Job Details
This Apprentice Clinical Coder at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a new and exciting opportunity to learn new skills and become part of the Clinical Coding department.
The successful applicant will receive Induction and training appropriate to the activities he or she will undertake, and following this induction period will be enrolled to the Level 3 Clinical Coder Apprenticeship with our Training Provider.
Main duties of the job
The Apprentice Coder will be trained to accurately abstract, analyse, and translate medical interventions and diagnostic terminology from a patient's medical record into alphanumerical classification codes.
The Apprentice Coder will be trained to liaise with clinicians to ensure that sufficiently coded information is clearly provided in case notes to enable high levels of data quality.
