Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Apprenticeship Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners via apprenticeship route to join the NHS Talking Therapies Service (IAPT) delivered jointly by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) and Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. The successful candidates will be joining a well-established service that continues to offer high quality; evidence based psychological interventions for our identified populations. The posts are for the Coventry, Rugby, North Warwickshire and South Warwickshire in both CWPT and CW Mind.

The PWP apprenticeship programme is a 12-month course, delivered by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust Apprenticeship scheme. The programme combines clinical competency development with academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and Staffordshire University. Successful applicants will need to commit to the academic and competency development requirements of the course.

You will need to have successfully completed a Level 3 qualification and Maths and English GCSE grade C or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 prior to application.

Main duties of the job

As an apprentice PWP, you will be a full time Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust or Coventry & Warwickshire Mind employee based within the NHS Talking Therapies service, whilst attending the PWP apprenticeship programme. During the apprenticeship programme, one day per week is protected learning time - taken up as classroom learning, or online learning, research, shadowing, project work, self- learning or University directed study. The remaining four days will be spent on-the-job training within the NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT).

On successful completion of the programme, apprentices will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within a Talking Therapies service and will progress from a Band 4 Apprentice PWP contract to a permanent Band 5 Qualified PWP contract. As the Trust is funding your training, you are expected to work as a Qualified PWP for the service for at least 2 years.
