Job Details
Are you caring and compassionate?
Are you looking to kick-start your career in care?
Are you a young individual or someone looking to return to work?
The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICS are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individuals, who would like to pursue a career in care by undertaking an Apprenticeship.
You will be given a fixed term employment contract for the period it takes to complete your apprenticeship, usually 14 months. During this time you will work towards your Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. This role is full time, where you would be expected to work 4 days per week on placement and have 1 day per week at college.
Main duties of the job
On your placements, you will be working alongside care givers (including Healthcare Support Workers, Nurses, Physiotherapists and Pharmacists) to learn how to provide high quality care to patients.
This exciting opportunity would mean that you are able to gain experience in a variety of care settings, including mental health, primary care (e.g. GP surgeries) and elderly care. This will enable you to develop your skills and competencies, whilst experiencing a variety of care environments. After the Apprenticeship, you will be able to work as a qualified Health and Care Support Worker.
About us
In the ICS people function, we are a team who work with a number of organisations who provide health and social care services across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. These organisations include NHS Trusts, social care, voluntary sector, local authorities and primary care (your GP practice). In the people function, our focus is our workforce.
We are striving to create a long term health and care workforce by retaining the valuable skills of staff currently working with us, encouraging new people to join health and care and by creating new and exciting opportunities for our future workforce.
