Job summary

2 year Trainee Nursing Associate Apprenticeship leading to a Nursing Associate Foundation Degree with University Plymouth NHS trust starting September 22.

The Nursing Associate apprenticeship programme combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and the University of Plymouth.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, applicants will graduate with a foundation degree (level 5 qualification), enter a profession regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and be employed by UHP as a Band 4 Nursing Associate (on condition of having successfully completed the End Point Assessment of the apprenticeship).

If you are unable to attend for interview scheduled for the 21st or 22nd June 2022 or do not meet the minimum criteria you should not apply at this time, future opportunities will be available to apply for the March 23 cohort.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

To deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence.

Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual

Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or other registered care professionals dependent on setting

The two year apprenticeship is made up of:

20% university attendance

20% off the job learning (dedicated experiential learning in a clinical environment)

60% work-based learning including work as part of the unregistered workforce team
