Are you looking for a career opportunity in the caring profession and to be a part of our valued NHS? Elective & Emergency Surgery across the Churchill & John Radcliffe Hospital are looking for healthcare support worker apprentices.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has fantastic opportunities for you to learn whilst you earn and develop your professional skills.

This is an entry level post designed for those starting their working career in healthcare.

We are looking for caring, compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals who are keen to learn and would like to work within a friendly and fast paced environment. You will be expected to apply our Trust values and standards to provide the highest standards of person-centred care to our patients.

This Apprenticeship will last for 16 months, and successful completion leads to a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship. During that time, you will be employed in one clinical area in one of the 4 hospitals in the Trust and undertake a range of training to support in the development of knowledge, behaviours, and clinical practice.

For some apprentices this can lead to higher level qualifications and to have the opportunity to work through to degree level.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be supported to:
  • Complete the Care Certificate
  • Develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to achieve the Level 2 HealthCare Support Worker Apprenticeship
  • Achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Care (Adult) (optional)

Achieve Functional Skills Level 1 and Level 2 in English and Maths where required.
