North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT)is a regional trauma centre and our acute care wards, and departments are waiting for you.

There is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic motivated individuals to join NBT as a Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA)

You will be fully supported throughout the Trainee Nursing Associate programme by a well-established education team and experienced healthcare professionals.

An understanding of the Nursing Associate role is essential. This needs to be demonstrated in your supporting information in the context of the team, the organisation and how the role may contribute to service.

All applicants (where applicable) must have been resident in the UK for three years prior to commencing their Apprenticeship as set by the ESFA.

A visa needs to be in place for the length of the apprenticeship programme.

Main duties of the job

Knowledge and Expertise

o Understands and acts in line with NMC Code Of Conduct.

o Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development.

o Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriateprofessional for expert help and advice.

o Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatmentplan.

Experience

o Experience of working inteams under appropriatesupervision as part of amulti-disciplinary team.

o Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs,seeking advice where appropriate.

o Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.

Skills

o Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervisionactivities.

o Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload.

o Ability to deal with non routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact.

o Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non verbalcommunication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

o Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people,their families, carers and colleagues.

o Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursingassociate students, other learners and health care support workers asrequired within the clinical setting.
