About the apprenticeship
Duties
• Check the cut list for CNC plasma cutters every morning
• Organise daily jobs with the boards any pins/bosses & cutting edges that need doing
• Keep machines maintained and cleaned, safe environment + every Friday 4:30PM clean down till 5pm
• Making sure parts cut on the CNC plasma cutter are put away in the correct place
• Check stock levels of sheet, bar, any machine consumables such as drills, lathe tips, CNC plasma parts and Oxygen bottles and keep management informed in advance to get ordered in

Time and a half for any overtime over 40 hours

Skills
• Good working knowledge of CNC machines and technologies - lathes, pillar drill and auto saw
• Be able to read and understand technical drawings used in the workshop
• Multitasking and time-management with the ability to priorities tasks
• Given any works orders read correctly and look after each paperwork
• Good, effective communication skills
• Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience of working in a target driven environment
• Ability to use standard measuring equipment (Vernier calipers, micrometers etc)
• Quality Awareness
• Continuous Improvement focused
• A flexible and proactive ‘can do' attitude.
