We are working with our client, who are an independent insurance broker specializing in insurance for sports professionals, commercial and personal lines, and are seeking driven and ambitious individuals to join their team.
As an Apprentice Insurance Broker you will receive full training to support you to become successful in your role. You will work as part of a team and individually to ensure that customers are handled in a friendly, useful, and professional manner and any customer enquiries, payments, mid-term adjustments, cancellations and complaints are handled in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
You will provide support to the relevant sales departments, this will include searching the market to obtain quotes that suit clients demands and needs. To attend relevant training sessions within your development plan.
Customer Service:
- Provide help and advice to customers over the telephone, by e-mail or face-to-face
- Investigate and solve customers’ problems and complaints within the required timescales.
- Complete and process, mid-term adjustments ensuring the correct additional/return premiums are calculated and collected, following the correct processes and procedures whilst applying the relevant fees are per the company’s terms of business agreement.

- Deliver excellent customer service by responding swiftly to queries and concerns from clients.
- Respond to enquiries from clients, brokers and underwriters received by phone, letter or e-mail in a courteous and helpful manner and ensure that all information required by the client or underwriters are obtained and communicated.
Sales:
- Identify all potential cross sales and up sell opportunities, referring to other departments where necessary.
- Assist and support in the generation of new leads and enquiries
Administration:
If the quote is accepted verbally, issue written confirmation, providing full details of cover, enclosing proposal(s) for completion (if applicable) and the “Terms of Business” document.
Issue policy documents and update client records.
The Advisor will share responsibility for dealing with any actions attaching to existing clients on mid-term adjustments and claims and will occasionally refer to senior colleagues.
- Follow the appropriate process for chasing all documents
- Validate and process all documents received by clients
- Monitor, check and process any documents received from insurers.
- Ensure that the system records are created for mid-term adjustments, cancellations and enquiries are updated following all client contacts.
- Search the panel of insurers to ensure sales advisors are delivering quotes that match a client’s demands and needs
As an apprentice, you will combine work and study as you work towards completing your Level 3 Insurance Practitioner apprenticeship program and achieve your Certificate in Insurance (a highly regarded qualification in the insurance sector).
