Job Details
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy Department is seeking an exceptional candidate to join the team as an apprentice pre-registration pharmacy technician. If you have a keen interest in Maths and Science, and you would like the opportunity to work towards becoming a registered Pharmacy Technician. You may be interested in a two-year apprenticeship training scheme available at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
Successful candidates will attend College through virtual classroom teaching on a day release basis to undertake the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians qualification. The post offers 2 years comprehensive training in all aspects of pharmacy services on a rotational basis. Individuals will need to be highly organised and motivated and be capable of meeting multiple deadlines. To be eligible for consideration for a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician interview, you must meet all essential criteria including: GCSEs at Grade 4 or grade C or above, including English Language, Maths and One Science Applicants MUST have the required minimum qualifications and will be asked to email photos of original certificates before interview,(predicted grades for school leavers on official letter headed school/ college paper) and be available for a September 2023 start. Main duties of the job
An Apprentice Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician is required to attend teaching at College on a day release basis to work towards completing Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians qualification. This will be completed by undertaking written knowledge assignments working as part of the Pharmacy team in all areas of the Pharmacy department, on a rotation basis. Skills assessments will also be undertaken in each area within pharmacy. These areas are Dispensary, where learning about how to dispense and check medication accurately and safely. Aseptic, this is an area where medications are made under strict clinical guidelines. Medicine Optimisation, this rotation conducted at ward level leaning about patients medication, uses, side effects and supporting patients with their medication. Medicines Information and Governance, this rotation covers policies, procedures and looking in to medication errors and how they can be avoided.
The post offers 2 years comprehensive training in all aspects of pharmacy services and students who successfully complete the 2-year course and associated study will be eligible to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the General
