- Participate in engineering activities to define product requirements, create designs, perform simulation testing, and validate final hardware components
- Under direct supervision can apply relevant standards/specifications
- Can identify basic risks associated with a design and manufacture of products
- Has a basic theoretical knowledge of engineering principles in one area
- Helps maintain 6S and HSE standards
- Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice
- Follow established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments
- Performs mechanical component development and integration using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) concepts using basic applicable methods
- Under close supervision, provides expertise in designing, developing,manufacturing and testing mechanical components
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- You will be studying towards Level 6 Manufacturing engineer degree apprenticeship
- You will be studying for this qualification through the University of Derby, 1 day per your working week
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- After successful completion of your apprenticeship, Parker Meggitt will review further employment opportunities and potential for higher education training available to you - dependent on your performance
