What will the apprentice be doing?

At Pinfields we aim to train the next generation of tax advisors. We are a forward thinking company, looking to technology and people to help our clients run successful businesses.

· We will support you in your growth as a tax advisor, and we have a proven track record with a training plan with tangible results for apprentices. The successful applicant will be working in a busy tax office joining a team of 4 qualified and part qualified tax advisors. You will be supported by the college and by our team, who are willing and able to train you.

· The initial role will focus mainly on the preparation of seld assessment tax returns and P11d's for a diverse selection of clients. Ranging from small sole traders through to larger limited companies. As we all some of the administrative tasks we carry out for clients with regards to their tax affairs.

· As your experience and knowledge grows we will increase the complexity and variety of jobs that you get involved with.

We are looking for the successful applicant to start work in July/August, with the intention of enrolling in college for the start of September

The successful candidate will be able to work in a team and on their own. The individual will need to be able to manage deadlines set by their colleagues. They should be hardworking and professional. The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of Microsoft office, to include Word, Excel and Outlook.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will study Level 4 ATT with Kaplan, subject to availability of Kaplan's courses this can be via 'live on line' or classroom based study. Kaplan's nearest centre is in Birmingham.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

As an ATT qualified Tax Technician, we would encourage you to continue to study for a CTS (Chartered Tax Advisor) qualification if you would like to, whilst contiuing to work in our tax department. This is not compulsory, but would be fully supported and encouraged.

We also have members of our team who are studying towards AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualifications at level 2, level 3 and level 4.

We encourage and have members of our team studying towards professional qualifications with ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Engand and Wales) and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

Things to consider

We would like the applicant to also work towards learning to drive (if they don't already) and hold a full driving licence. A full driving licence desirable but not essential for the role.
