- Coordinate the material management activities on a shop floor daily
- Support the development and use of the sales & operations (S&OP) process, the corporate tools and reportin
- Use the PFEP model to optimize material flow on location
- Establish Min - Max levels for goods receiving & dispatch
- Develop the use of Kanban to pull materials internally & externally
- Develop delivery frequency model to reduce inventory
- Use and maintain data integrity within the ERP system
- Bar coding to improve material traceability, material flow, and shipping accuracy
- Use of MRP functionality where needed
- Support the co-ordination of new product introduction and change management within the supply chain
- Provide support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements
- Support the development of enhanced "visual management" within the location
- Implement appropriate level scheduling tools in the value streams
- Implement visual Kanban controls for production components
- Set up and maintain clear operating procedures for material control processes to be executed
- Provide support to lean activities to achieve productivity improvements, inventory reductions, and premier customer service, whilst maintaining quality standards, through the deployment of the Parker Lean System
- Support and utilise Lean principles, including where appropriate Kaizen, Kanban's, Problem Solving and TIB usage, 5S
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- You will attend Sheffield Hallam University on block release for 3 or 4 days at a time, 6 times a year
- The degree award is BA (Hons) Professional Practice in Supply Chain
