About the apprenticeship
Duties
•As a requirement within this role you will be expected to register with Social Care Wales & act in accordance with standards set within these guidelines
•Have appropriate qualification for your role (QCF Level 2 or above) or be willing to work towards this
•Assist in the day-to-day running of the home & in all matters regarding the service users' daily lives
•Carry responsibility for the service, ensuring that high standards of care & support are maintained as a senior employee, adhering to all requirements & regulations within the Regulation & Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016
•Supervise the work of support workers & relief staff, ensuring that all duties are carried out in such a way as to maintain high care & support standards at all times
•Discuss issues arising from the above with the Team Leader & Domiciliary Manager as necessary
•Work within a flexible rota system adapted to meet the needs of individuals living in the Service User's home
•Work as part of a staff team in a constructive & supportive manner, attend regular staff meetings / workshops, individual support and supervision meetings as necessary
•Work within a rota'd shift system inclusive of evening and weekend work. To sleep-in when arranged at a predetermined payment
•Ensure the safety of the service users at all times, reporting promptly any concerns about the health, safety or wellbeing of service users

•To undertake an initial three to six monthly probationary period, whereby your performance will be reviewed and suitability for the post assessed.
•To ensure mandatory training is up to date and refreshed where required.
•To undertake courses and pursue own professional development and training. The company proactively encourages staff to improve their skills as appropriate.
Due to the nature of the role, all applicants must be aged 18 year or older.
