What our Previous Graduates says, don’t just take our word for it!
I joined Raytheon’s Project Management Apprenticeship scheme in 2019, within the Space and Airbourne sector. I am now coming up to my fourth and final year. Since joining, I have been involved with all different aspects of project management, from risk management, and building small project proposals, to reporting and creating schedules, and building positive relationships with our customer. I am enjoying the scheme and looking forward to my final year to continue learning and gaining exposure to new pieces of work. Once I have finished my 4 years, I feel that I will be a well-equipped Project Manager!
Over the 3 years, I have had increased responsibility and accountability, whilst always being supported by my line manager and PM team. Completing my Project Management apprenticeship alongside work has been challenging, although more than achievable, due to Raytheon encouraging me to put hours aside each week designated to university work.
Raytheon has offered me many opportunities, last year I worked on a different programme for a for a couple of months, resulting in a greater understanding of different aspects of the business. Not only this, but as part of the Forward Steps programme I am encouraged as an STEM ambassador to support local and regional events, which I have found to be extremely rewarding.
